Here's What February's Busiest ERC-20 Dapps Have Been Working On 🏗️
Each month, we shine a spotlight on the 10 ERC-20 projects with the highest-recorded developer activity for the past 30 days, as calculated by Santiment.
Development Activity is an often-underrated indicator of project success, as it demonstrates the month-to-month commitment to creating a working product, continuously polishing and upgrading its features, and staying true to the long-term roadmap.
In this report, we are focusing only on ‘pure ERC-20’, i.e. those projects that are (currently) committed to developing on Ethereum, and have as of yet no working mainnet or an imminent token swap.

As always, we asked all of this month’s top 10 most active ERC-20 dapps what they’ve been working on for the past month. Here’s what they told us:
“In February, we were busy working on all three of our product lines:
Prediction markets: We implemented a milestone in interoperability: you can now use the Gnosis Safe to trade on Sight prediction markets by choosing the WalletConnect option. The Sight platform also now supports markets with more than two outcomes. Watch for a big announcement on new markets this week: https://sight.pm/#markets.
Trading protocols: A new, second interface for the dFusion protocol has been completed and is currently undergoing user testing. Additionally, the order matching algorithm was further optimized. And don’t forget: we’re still running a dFusion protocol public bug bounty program with up to $50K for every bug you report.
Wallet solutions: A round of exciting features for the Gnosis Safe Multisig are now almost ready for release. In the next two weeks, you can expect NFT (ERC-721) support, native Ledger and Trezor hardware wallet integrations, and a desktop app.”
"Big month over at Status:
- Status mobile app V1 launched! - a really exciting time all round. You can read all about the specs & features in this reviewers guide.
- Embark - v5.2 landed, with proxy contract support, scripts execution, and preparation for Embark 6.
- Vac - we released a new spec, 0.4, for Waku (a fork of the Whisper protocol), and moved closer to integration with Status mobile app.
- Keycard - we continued working on blockers and high priority items to integrate Keycard into the Status app.
- Nimbus - we’ve been experimenting and iterating on the first mobile eth2 testnet, have made advances in peer discovery by achieving connectivity with v5 discovery, implemented BLS digital signatures, and replaced our default stack tracing mechanism with an OS lightweight alternative.
“The Aragon community had a lot to be excited about in February, shipping new products and a number of important updates:
- Aragon 0.8.8 released with support for the Dandelion template on mainnet and Rinkeby
- How to build a Moloch-like DAO on Aragon using the Dandelion template
- How "OpenFi" dapps can decentralize using Aragon Agent in 10 minutes or less

"In February the team focussed on bug fixing and improvements of the Matrix transport layer.
The team is constantly working towards improving and getting rid of bugs before releasing Alderaan on the mainnet.
The light client keeps on progressing and one of the major new features is derived subkey support, which means that users no longer have to manually sign every single transaction. From a user perspective this makes a big difference, and the team is looking forward to showing this feature at EthCC, where they will be doing a workshop on the light client."

“Lots of exciting progress happening behind the scenes lately. A few highlights:
0x Mesh is chugging along. Mesh is a censorship-resistant p2p network for distributing off-chain orders. Light-weight node runs in browser: https://mesh-viz.0x.org Used in Augur v2.
0x API is performing well. https://0x.org/api Plugs into money legos. Provides access to deep liquidity. 0x API combines liquidity from multiple DEX protocols to consistently provide the lowest slippage across most trade sizes. $5k trades in ETH/DAI shown below.
The protocol fee and staking system introduced in 0x v3.0 are functioning properly. Each trade incurs a fee denominated in ETH or wETH. Fees accumulate over 10 days before being paid out to market makers that establish staking pools.
0x v3.0 now supports "property-based orders" which unlock sophisticated market making strategies within NFT markets. NFT marketplace @TokenTrove added support for this feature earlier in the month and it has already driven hundreds of @GodsUnchained card trades.”
Here are the major milestones from the Maker team for the month of February:
- "The smart contracts team has been working on improving readability and turnaround time of our weekly executive spells, as well as tools like dss-interfaces that make integrating with our smart contracts better and easier.
- We've also been doing an internal audit of some new code.
- Improvements to our front-ends with data subscription/fetching optimizations (advanced work done on dai.js w/multicall)."
“At the beginning of the year we've focused on implementing automated identity verification by integrating IDnow and Onfido services on our platform. The new feature allows our users to submit their documents quickly and easily and get verified to start investing on Neufund.
In addition, the identity verification flow has been made mobile-friendly, allowing users to verify their identity with ease on their mobile devices. Moreover, our development team has worked extensively to improve internal functionality tests which are used for testing new features. Improvements were made in the existing testing flows as well as new automated tests were introduced.
